Dr Cristaldi graduated cum laude in Medicine in 1990 at University of Milan and completed residency program in General & Gastroenterological Surgery in the Central University Hospital in Milan.
Before being appointed a staff surgeon and lecturer in Surgery at Luigi Sacco University Hospital in Milan Before being appointed a staff surgeon and lecturer in Surgery at Luigi Sacco University Hospital in Milan he completed Fellowship in GI surgery in the same institution, specializing in the treatment
of gastro-intestinal condition with particular focus on diseases of the large intestine. He received training in minimally invasive colorectal surgery, which became part of his routine practice since 1998. In 2003 he moved to UK as Consultant Colorectal Surgeon being appointed at Oxford Radcliffe University Hospital NHS trust.
